Lesson 2 of 8

Reading help: explain, outline, quiz me

Lesson 2 of 8 · Use AI for School and Research Writing

In this lesson. Turn a hard paper into a study plan you still verify.

What you will learn

  • Outlines from a passage
  • Glossary of terms
  • Quiz questions tied to the text

Walkthrough

You will paste a passage you are allowed to use and ask for an outline, a glossary, and five quiz questions. Then you will check the outline against the passage. If a quiz answer is not in the text, throw it out.

Work through the ideas in order. After each point, pause and connect it to a task you already do — a document, a workflow, or a feature you own. The goal of Use AI for School and Research Writing is usable skill, not a pile of notes.

If something is unclear, rewrite it in your own words before you continue. Teaching the step back to yourself is the fastest way to see gaps.

Practice

Create a quiz from one section and mark any question the passage does not answer.

Keep the first attempt small. A finished example you can reuse beats a perfect plan you never run.

Check your understanding

  • Can you explain the goal of this lesson in one sentence to a teammate?
  • Where would you apply “Outlines from a passage” in your own work this week?
  • What would you change on a second pass of the practice?

Next. Continue to the following lesson when the practice has a real artifact, even a rough one.
