Body structure: context, ask, details

Lesson 3 of 8 · Write Better Emails with AI in Minutes

In this lesson. Use a three-block body so the reader can skim.

What you will learn

  • Context / ask / details
  • Shortening without losing the ask
  • Skimmable paragraphs

Walkthrough

You will force every draft into context, ask, and supporting details. Then you will ask the model to shorten by 30% without losing the ask. Length is a courtesy. If a detail is needed, it goes below the ask, not above it.

Work through the ideas in order. After each point, pause and connect it to a task you already do — a document, a workflow, or a feature you own. The goal of Write Better Emails with AI in Minutes is usable skill, not a pile of notes.

If something is unclear, rewrite it in your own words before you continue. Teaching the step back to yourself is the fastest way to see gaps.

Practice

Rewrite one long email into three blocks and cut 30% of the words.

Keep the first attempt small. A finished example you can reuse beats a perfect plan you never run.
